Boulcott Street Open.
Great news, our new "Refreshment Room" at 69 Boulcott St, Wellington has opened to the public. The store is a very cool little stop for espresso starved individuals. There is a good food range with snack and lunch items available. As well as the great coffee in a takeaway cup, you can buy beans in retail bags to take home or we can grind them to your needs. We also have Zany Zeus cheese and organic milk in the fridge to purchase. Go check it out, Tracey and Katie would love to meet you. There is also retro furniture and cool stuff from Gawjus Fings to look over and buy.

The new roaster is now up and roasting!

Ripe gets a new roaster
Because of increased demand, a growing number of wholesale accounts and looking to the future it made sense to step up to a bigger roaster (45kg). Currently we are roasting on a 30kg roaster, the cafe is getting busier and customers are less tolerant of a noisy roaster during their visit to the cafe. So the plan is to shift the major volume of roasting to the bigger roaster which Jason is in the middle of refurbishing. This will be setup away from our cafe/roastery located in Moera, which will help focus the cafe and roasting businesses. We will still have the roaster we are currently using operational at our Moera base.
The Whitmee Roaster:
Built like a Sherman Tank, our 'Pre-World War 2' Coffee Roaster has withstood the test of time.
Built in the UK, we are restoring her to her former glory, with the excepton of a few modern tweeks!
The Whitmee has served generations of coffee drinkers and is nearly ready to roast RIPE COFFEE for the NEW generation.
