Ripe Coffee Company Ltd

Established in 2001 the company has grown to be one of Wellingtons quality Coffee brands. Our slogan "Nice Coffee...Nice Guys...!" was one of Jasons many throw away lines that was picked up by someone, and we ran with it. To Ripe it's the simple things that count, like quality and people. From our humble beginnings in this little shed in Petone

roasting 30 kg of coffee per week, to our warehouse in Petone roasting 600kg per week.

The important things have remained exactly the same. It starts with the Ripe family. All 19 staff have a passion for the coffee industry, both Ken and Jason still take an active role in the business, keeping contact with not only the 60 wholesale/cafe accounts we supply, but also or regulars that come into the 5 retail sites. All the food we sell at our outlets is prepared by Kim and Revy at our Moera Cafe/Admin centre.

We are also striving to be 100% fairtrade green bean roasters with the help of TradeAid.

Ripe also has four coffee to-go sites, two in Wellington and two in Lower Hutt where you can get a great espresso to drink, a great selection of food and retail coffee as beans, or ground to requirements.

A unique advantage our retail customers have is the ability to have one of our "smart" loyalty cards. This enables you to accrue points with all hot drinks (buy nine get one free), and retail coffee bag purchases (buy ten get one free), it also has the ability to store money on the card so you can use it to purchase at all five sites and it tells us when it is your birthday so you get a free coffee!!
